• Australia, Tonga and Wales to play at the home of Saints

I’m delighted to see the Rugby League World Cup 2021 fixtures this week, with the reigning world champions Australia, Tonga and Wales playing games at the home of Saints, alongside Papua New Guinea and Italy.
These promise to be great games as part of the World Cup, with the men’s, women’s and wheelchair RL tournaments featuring 61 games at 21 venues across England. This will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the great game of Rugby League, as well as to see some of the world’s best players take to the field.
All credit to the organisers, who despite the pandemic have been working hard to prepare for the tournament, and to Eamonn, Mike and everyone at Saints, who as well as preparing for the restart of the Super League have been working hard to ensure the borough will play a key role in the World Cup next year.
