As Labour’s security spokesperson, I reiterated in Parliament our party’s overriding priority to protect the British public, including by working with our most trusted international partners to identify and swiftly bring dangerous criminals to justice.

Yet, the Government’s woeful lack of progress on future security arrangements with the European Union risks jeopardising this – and time is running out.

Criminals don’t respect borders and law enforcement need to work across them to combat crime and keep our communities safe.
