No one should have to spend Christmas sleeping rough – not least during a dangerous pandemic.
Yet, the scourge of rough sleeping has shamefully risen in every region under the Tories, rocketing by nearly 250% since 2010 in the North West alone – making our area the very worst hit.

And with vital services slashed and many night shelters shut due to the pandemic, those forced onto the streets could be in for their worst winter yet unless urgent action is taken.

Labour is clear: the Government must show leadership, compassion and decency by making sure everyone has a safe, Covid-secure place to stay this winter and beyond.
