People across St Helens North and the whole Borough will mourn the passing of The Duke of Edinburgh.

He led a remarkable life of service, duty and dedication to the country and The Queen; we send our condolences to her and the Royal Family.

As a mark of respect, the Union Flag has been lowered to half-mast today over St Helens Town Hall, which Prince Philip and The Queen first visited in 1954.
