I was pleased to join the really uplifting Refugee Week 2021 event and football game in Newton-le-Willows.
It was a great opportunity to showcase the excellent work of local groups and our community.
I met with community group representatives at Newton-le-Willows Sports Club, as they hosted the friendly between a team of local refugees and ward councillors. It was fantastic to hear more about the work being done in St Helens Borough to support refugees and celebrate their resilience and local contributions.
