I was disappointed to see that Britain’s nuclear test veterans – including several of my St Helens North constituents – will not have their service recognised with a medal, following a two-year government review.

Almost 70 years since the start of Britain’s nuclear test programme which put them in harm’s way, this decision is deeply unfair and totally wrong.

The Prime Minister should step in, honour the brave efforts of these veterans, and finally fix this injustice.
